Job Summary
The Product Manager, Email is an individual contributor assigned to manage Register.com’s email product offering. The Product Manager works in a team setting under the guidance of the Director of Product Management or SVP of Product Management. Aspects of email product management includes managing the P&L for the product, relationships with relevant vendors, product marketing plans and competitive analysis, product roadmaps and developing specifications for product improvements to meet growth or efficiency needs.
Principal Responsibilities: (Essential Function)
· Leads in the development of the Product Roadmap and works to present and win approval for major roadmap initiatives
· Formulates product sales and profitability forecasts and manages the P&L for the products.
· Writes detailed product specifications for value added services in support of those initiatives.
· Project manages product launches, maintenance, enhancements and other product related initiatives by working with Marketing, Technology, Call Center and Operations.
· Works closely with Marketing to develop marketing plans and campaigns for products.
· Monitors competition and conducts research to evaluate the positioning of our products against the external landscape.
· Understands and analyzes financial models and has ability to create basic revenue and cost models for product initiatives.
· Manages ongoing relationships with product vendors with the goal of leveraging vendor expertise and maximizing product performance.
Job Requirements
Skills
· Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to communicate and influence team members across the organization.
· Advanced knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts, with special emphasis on experience in eCommerce processes and standards.
· Proven ability to construct business cases and plans, including financial plans and cost / benefit analyses.
· Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to successful and timely completion.
Education
-BS/BA in a Business or Information Technology / Computer Science discipline with relevant work experience.
-MBA is preferred.
Experience
· This is a management track position that requires relevant work experience and achievement, but generally looks for candidates with 3 plus years of experience in marketing or product management.
· Experience leading projects with Project Management tools and methodologies (Microsoft Project, etc.).
Working Relationships
· Internally: Cross functional contact with marketing, operations, technology, finance and legal.
· Externally: 3rd party vendors
